Platform Capabilities & Performance
Complete transparency into the engineering decisions, zero-cost abstractions, and hardware benchmarks powering Bloom across mobile, web, and server.
Architectural Guarantees
Zero Reflection DI
No mirrors or runtime reflection used; container resolution is 100% type-safe and AOT compilable.
Deterministic Reactivity
Signals use topological dependency sorting to eliminate glitching and duplicate frame re-renders.
Native Manifest Idempotency
Prebuild runs produce identical, clean diffs in iOS Info.plist and Android AndroidManifest.xml.
Standalone UI Primitives
Bloom UI primitives have zero external package dependencies and can be used in any vanilla Flutter project.
Kernel-Level Port Sharing
BloomRealtimeCluster leverages HttpServer.bind(shared: true) to distribute TCP sockets across all CPU cores with 0 Redis dependencies.
Reified Compile-Time Types
Eliminates runtime type erasure; frontend and backend share the identical Dart model classes without translation layers.
Verified Hardware Benchmarks (8 vCPUs, Linux x64)
The following benchmarks were measured in reproducible test environments running identical workloads across Bloom, NestJS, Fastify, Prisma, Drizzle, and TanStack Query:
Realtime WebSocket Fan-Out (50,000 Deliveries / 1,000 Concurrent Sockets)
| Engine / Framework | Delivery Time | Throughput | Server RSS Memory |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bloom Realtime Cluster (8 Isolates) | 640 ms 🥇 | 78,125 msgs/sec 🥇 | 3.70 MB 🥇 |
| NestJS (@nestjs/platform-ws) | 1,244 ms | 40,193 msgs/sec | 114.96 MB |
| Fastify (@fastify/websocket) | 1,266 ms | 39,494 msgs/sec | 107.50 MB |
SQLite Database & ORM Operations (5,000 Point Lookups & Bulk Updates)
| ORM / Database Layer | 5k Point Lookups | Lookup Throughput | 2.3k Row Bulk Update |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bloom Native ORM (Dart) | 400 ms 🥇 | 12,500 ops/sec 🥇 | 2 ms 🥇 |
| Drizzle ORM (Node.js) | 731 ms | 6,839 ops/sec | 5 ms |
| TypeORM (Node.js) | 1,032 ms | 4,845 ops/sec | 7 ms |
| Prisma (Node.js / Rust Engine) | 5,089 ms | 982 ops/sec | 21 ms |
Why Dart Outperforms Node.js at Scale
Dart is often mistakenly evaluated through the lens of early 2018 Flutter. Modern Dart 3.x is an AOT-compiled, reified-type, multi-threaded language with significant architectural advantages over Node.js:
In Node.js, clustering requires spawning 8 heavy OS processes (consuming ~1 GB RAM). In Dart, 8 isolates run inside 1 single process at 3.7 MB RAM with zero Redis overhead for pub/sub.
Unlike V8's dynamic deoptimizations that cause p99 latency spikes under 1,000 concurrent connections, Dart's strict static types guarantee steady 29.3 ms tail latency under max load.
The same User class defined in your backend ORM is used directly in Flutter UI components with zero tRPC or OpenAPI codegen translation steps.
